This page explains the small files and browser storage PeerLink uses, and how advertising works on our pages.
1. What we store in your browser
| What | Why | Needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in and device ID | Keeps you signed in and recognises your device. | Yes |
| Chats and settings on your device | Shows your chats quickly and remembers choices such as theme, language of the screen and notification options. | Yes |
| Saved server list | Lets the app reconnect if our main server is busy. | Yes |
| Advertising cookies (Google) | Show and measure ads on guest screens and public pages when advertising is on. | No — only if ads are on, and you can opt out |
We do not use cookies to read your messages or to follow you across other websites.
2. Advertising and Google
- When advertising is on, guest visitors and visitors to our public pages may see ads from Google AdSense. Signed-in accounts do not see Google ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's earlier visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area and the UK) you will be asked for your choice before personalised ads are shown. Until you agree, ads are not personalised.
3. Your choices
- Opt out of personalised advertising: Google Ad Settings or aboutads.info.
- How Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. PeerLink will still open, but you may have to sign in again.
- Creating a free account removes Google ads from your screens.
4. Sponsored posts
Posts marked Sponsored in the Updates tab are ads bought by other PeerLink users. They are chosen by your country and the tab you are viewing. See our Terms for the advertiser rules.
